We’ve been taught to call it “normal.” An addiction doesn’t stop being an addiction because it’s popular. If something repeatedly pulls you away from your values, steals your attention, changes how you experience intimacy, leaves you needing more to feel the same effect, and keeps you coming back despite wanting to stop… it’s worth asking some hard questions. We’ve normalized something that’s costing millions their presence, confidence, discipline, and ability to deeply connect. The first step isn’t defending it. It’s being honest about what it’s taking from you.

Thank you for speaking up on this. I've done years of work in women's issues and internet safety, and it's shocking how this isn't being taken seriously. I would go as far as saying some of these men engage with domestic abuse with how bad the gaslighting and coercive control is. This needs to be addressed.
