I work for an optician 🙈 excessive heat like this will remove coatings on the lens and ruin your glasses. I recommend using a gentle dish soap (sparingly!) and lens spray to clean them

Guys don’t do this, your lenses are coated using heat so heat can undo that coating and cause your lenses to be messed the hell up

Modern glasses aren't made of glass, but plastic. All those nice coatings like UV filters are ruined immediately by this.

Personally i woudnt do that because ur glasses has a protective layer round them and steam and stuff like that gets rid of it

depending on your coating this can cause them to develop cracks called "crazing" that renders them useless

please don’t do this, that melts the plastic and warps them. also that steam is extremely hot and should be covered by a towel or pointed into the machine

I promise just use dawn and rinse pat try with a papertowel not em cheap ones tho bc then u will have the paper on the lense js any paper towel that actually soaks up water
