The Ego is NOT inherently malevolent. you would not be able to exist without ego. Ego holds reality for you so you can live inside it, like a house, if your house is built with toxic materials then living there will not be fun, same with the ego. Ego is continually reconstructed throughout one's life based on the goals and needs of the Individual. Without Ego you would just be light without a container, you would not be able to have this very personal and individual experience of life.
