@thisseemedeasier: Sometimes it's fun making things even when you have no idea what they're going to be used for. A while back, someone asked if I could design and print a flange for a project they were working on. I didn't fully understand what they had in mind, but I figured, "Why not?" A few days later they sent a photo of the finished build. Turns out they mounted a ventilation fan to the lid of a bucket using the flange I made. Definitely not what I was expecting, but it was really cool seeing a simple printed part become part of someone else's solution. That's one of my favorite things about designing for the mushroom community. People always find creative uses I never would have thought of.
