Yes, they said that because of so many new players, the starting rank will be Bronze now instead of Gold, so obviously the first game is going to place you bronze — do you want every new ranked player who does good on their first match to be placed in GM?

Overwatch dosnt do individual rank just team rank so if you play in a bronze lobby win or lose it will move you up or down it dosnt work off you indivisual stats

If you don’t play enough or win enough quickplay an then just immediately put yourself in comp you will always start out in bronze until they can figure out ur hidden mmr. You can do well in comp but that doesn’t matter because they’re paying attention to team engagement, damage/healing an how well you use ur abilities in team fights to turn the game around.

your first few games the points swing goes crazy, after like 20games (so 10 after the placements) it should somewhat stabilized. before that you'll go down a lot but also go up a lot (2 divisions per match type of a lot)

C'est pour sa que le système de rank marvel est mieux. Il se base sur tes stat et tu perds moins de point voir aucun si tu fais une game excellente et tu en perds beaucoup si tu as fais de la merde

Yes, because the lobby you were playing in was bronze level, the system is suddenly going to bump you up multiple ranks just because you beat some bots.
