Thanks for the explanation. You know what else I don't understand (as a straight), why is there bisexual and pansexual? Especially, when a lot of bisexual people date genderqueer people? Is it Bisexuals say gender is the basis of attraction but Pansexuals are attracted to people despite gender? Also Is bisexuals who actually don't care about gender not saying theyre pansexual also based in homophobia? Sorry if I'm being homophobic, I don't recognize it, and usually need it pointed out.

Wow. Great response. I now understand why this is an issue for bi people. My feeling is not many people know one bi person and most have no awareness of their issues. Straight folks don’t really understand what bi even means. So you have long hard road to gain awareness. This is a great story you just said. Very touching. But can I make a recommendation. Biphobic sounds like it refers to discrimination in the public sphere but using it for personal dating conflicts is a little dramatic and threatening to others. You are totally right about folks biases. They are clueless. Show the world how cool bi men are. All the best.

Nobody is pushing these bisexual people into the closet. They are experiencing internalized homophobia and would rather continue that path than be authentic. Yes, that relationship might end but no self respecting queer person would hang on to it anyway
