@jupiterandbaby: I didn’t want to keep you guys waiting… Big sigh of relief: Aurora’s hooves are officially trimmed, and we finally got a halter on her! ​It was a long, exhausting, intense day. Right now, I’m still closely monitoring her for the next 2ish hours while the sedation completely wears off to make sure she stays safe and doesn't choke or colic. She’s up on her feet and moving around, a little wobbly and taking small snoozes, but she is awake and doing well! ​It was a successful day, but it wasn't all good news (x-rays showed some tough stuff, that points to years of neglect) . I’ll be explaining everything in detail soon. There’s simply no way to squeeze 4.5 hours of intense vet and farrier care into a short clip, so I’m putting together a 3-part (maybe 4-part!) video series starting tonight to break down everything that went down. This comment has nothing to do with the great job y'all did, it's about something important. I was just on your page and I read what your visions for your sanctuary, my first thought as I was reading was I hope that the visitor's that come there won't be able to ride the beauties you have. Then I found my answer "No Riding Allowed". I have always felt horses should just be horses and should not be ridden especially rescued horse's. I said all of to thank you for putting the horse's first because a lot of rescues, and sanctuaries make money off the horse's backs. So I wanted to give you kiddos and say Thank you. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
