As a police officer, I literally just won't do my job unless someone is about to die if I don't have my body cam. The camera holds the Saftey of all parties and I perfer it that way.

You see riots because people don’t like result of a body cam being published to the public that shows the officer was in the right. 99% of the time, the body cams show the officer was in the right. Its 1% of bad cops doing things they shouldn’t.

Anyone old enough to remember the big push for body cams to prove that police where corrupt? And for the most part it just showed that a lot of people exaggerate or straight up lie about what the police did to them while being arrested. I think it helped police far more than it hurt them…. Anywho , apparently those same people who pushed for body cams are calling them racist now and they are trying to get them removed

cop here. I LOVE my BWC. Immediately resolves BS IA complaints, and proves I am right at trial. also seriously reduces court appearances because of plea deals lol

He’s not talking about routine traffic stops. He talking about arrests made that that involve significant disputes of fact and excessive force. No more adding resisting and “suspect reached for my gun” on all reports involving a confrontation.

I thought I would hate the body cams. I actually loved them (I’m recently retired). They show cops doing it right and the victim class exposed. And in the rare occasion the cop is wrong it dealt with.

I wore a body cam for four years before I retired and I’m a big fan. The number of bullshit complaints against the police dropped like a rock. We didn’t even really have to ask questions anymore…the suspect couldn’t wait to run their mouth and incriminate themselves.
