I disagree. I think denying your flesh can look different for everyone. I agree that fasting should involve sacrifice and doing the hard thing but what’s difficult for one person may be easy for another. For me, abstaining from food is easier than fasting from my phone. Fast from whatever your flesh is clinging to, whatever is distracting you or keeping you from hearing God clearly.

Orthodox Christians fast from certain foods (meat, dairy, ect.). I recently got baptized into the church and am going through my first fast as a baptized Orthodox Christian! I learned recently that fasting is a constant reminder of God. “I can’t eat this right now because I’m fasting for God.” Fasting is really a beautiful and spiritual thing. And God gives strength during it. It can help so many areas of temptation in life. God bless ☦️

I love this pointing do! and I want to fast I just know my head is going to hurt and I theow up if I dont eat and ill be so sick and I work everyday, that would hurt my performance with also making me feel horrible. It's time to start following and having a personal, real, conversational relationship with Jesus and submit to His Lordship. Only in Jesus is abundant life, freedom, joy, peace, love and fulfillment.
