Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has officially shaken the political landscape of the Coast region by endorsing Nyali MP Mohamed Ali, popularly known as Moha Jicho Pevu, for the Mombasa Gubernatorial seat. In a high-stakes move during the "Ziara Ya Ukombozi" tour today, April 25, 2026, Kalonzo handed Ali a direct Wiper Party ticket. This strategic decision aims to consolidate the opposition's strength in Mombasa, a region where the Wiper Party historically enjoys massive voter support. The endorsement was a collaborative effort between Kalonzo Musyoka and the leader of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), Rigathi Gachagua. Speaking to the press, Gachagua confirmed that while Mohamed Ali is a key member of the DCP, the coalition has strategically decided to field him under the Wiper banner to ensure a decisive victory for the united opposition. The announcement was made in the presence of other heavyweights, including Eugene Wamalwa and Justin Muturi. The leaders began their day with a tour of the Likoni area and Kongowea Market before addressing a massive crowd at the Tononoka Grounds. This realignment officially brings Mohamed Ali into the heart of the opposition coalition, moving him away from his previous political affiliations. By securing the direct ticket, Ali is now positioned as the coalition’s primary candidate to battle for the Mombasa Governor’s seat (001) in the upcoming elections. The "Ziara Ya Ukombozi" continues to traverse the country as the opposition principals unite their respective parties to build a formidable political machine.
