@justtonch: You’re not destroying the planet by asking AI questions l. Training these models is what takes a lot of resources but once the model is made, the resource usage is minimal #fyp

Now multiply that by the no. Of people who use ai, and the number of questions they ask , and number of days in a month

I’m not debunking your claim, i will just be adding more info into it so people wont be misled. The so called 0.00026/0.00032 litters of water ai uses for a question is just for one single use. So we should instead calculate how much an average person asks the ai in a day and multiply by the cow’s lifespan that is made to be processed.(2-4 years old). You’d find that even if a person asks 35 questions to ai a day and multiply it by 2-4 years (730 days to 1460 days) it will only result about 6 - 13 liters of water used per a lifespan of a cow. The same case is to be made if you use heavy reasoning ai for 35 questions a day. It uses up only 0.039 liters a question so the same calculations would result to (996 to 1993 liters of water per 2 to 4 years of daily 35 questions).

Data centers' water usage is literally NOT a design problem. Maraming paraan para icool ang mga computers na ginagamit don, but, as usual, the corporate elites refuse to spend more than the minimum. there are literal cooling devices available yet they choose to use treated water because it's the cheapest

Hey guys, quick reminder: Earth isn't "running out of water." We live on a giant, self-cleaning blue marble, and water is a closed-loop infinite system. The water you’re drinking today is literally the exact same water the dinosaurs were taking baths in millions of years ago. Thanks to the hydrological cycle (evaporation, condensation, precipitation), every single drop of water on this planet gets recycled infinitely. It evaporates into the clouds, turns into rain, flows into rivers and ocean, gets purified by nature, and starts all over again. Nothing leaves the atmosphere. When people say "we're running out of water," what they actually mean is: 1. We're running low on cheap, clean, accessible fresh water in specific overpopulated regions. 2. We suck at managing local reservoirs and infrastructure. The total volume of H2O on Earth stays virtually identical forever. Nature doesn't lose water; humans just build cities in deserts and act surprised when local supply gets tight. Stop worrying about the planet running dry—physics literally won't allow it.

Exactly… nothing wrong with AI, but Pax Silica using our PH resources as a US leading initiative? They just had to use our resources again, lmao

AI is definitely part of the problem. But the bigger enemy are the big corporations taking advantage of everyone. Like Nestle.

The beef patty comparison was really good, I've always thought that people often exaggerate the amount of water they use to cool computers for AI and other necessities they need.

Dagdag n’yo pa ang power plants. Million gallons of water are consumed daily by these power plants, pero parang wala naman kayong issue doon? Mga Pinoy bandwagon talaga.

ai will always be the scapegoat when it comes to water crisis😂 they wouldn't blame the other industries, they're yapping even though they only knew the tip of the iceberg

honestly in my opinion, AI is great as a tool for humanity, and when we find a way to use ai without using data center to train them.

Also they just stay quiet about using lithium ion and cobalt powered batteries that appliances like phones up until vehicles use for their batteries. Africa is the top supplier while they are being exploited for their resources, pero pag ganyan wala kayo say
