It wasn’t Vatican II, it was the entire world. The church was unfortunately very weakened by this, but, it has the promises of Christ and will never fall, today we see converts everywhere, atheists, protestants, orthodox, they are becoming catholic now.

Great edit but i dont think Pius XII left it in “perfrct condition”. Although he is a great pope he allowed too much power to be in the hands of buginni and modernist to do the 1955 liturgical reforms.

I don’t doubt that V2 played a role surely it did, but how much of this is due to overall secularization, modernity, technology, etc
