Always remember, NEVER NEVER accept anything from them, not even as little as biscuit. A friend of mine was accused to stealing a banana😳😁. She went to a client, she felt sick at work and politely asked if she could have some banana to boost up her sugar level, she knew it was wrong, but she felt faint so she had to ask. The client agreed for her to take the banana. when the night carer went there, the client asked the night carer to ring up the office, out of curiousity, the night carer asked what the issue was. The client said the morning carer "STOLE" her banana😁😁. The case is still on going, pls dont take anything oooo, no matter how much they persuade you. PLS DO NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING. Many of them suffer from Dementia and dont even remember what they told you. Pls be careful.

I work in a care home, residents offer us cakes, sweeties, crisps etc all the time and we ARE allowed to accept that, however money, gift card, larger items such as perfume or a necklace etc we would absolutely never accept, however we would pretend to accept and put in the nurses station or admin office for when the service user forgets they have given it away and then start to look for it.

Accepting a gift now, could be used against you later by the client. Never give them your phone number, never agree to get them shopping, out of work hours, never agree to keep a secret. Remember, they are your client, not your friend. They will sometimes, abuse the situation, keep professional at all times.

A professional boundary would generally mean that Sarah should politely decline the vouchers, explain that she cannot accept personal gifts, and maintain the professional relationship.
