My hair is the same, it's impossible to get it in a bun without snapping bobbles, and getting it to stay in a bun. Were you being serious when you said yearly wash? I wash my hair as and when I think it needs it, so around once or twice a month in this heat. It's never been so healthy but I think it could go longer without washing.
