As a Missouri Resident I can tell you that this was not a Red vs Blue issue. it was an Us versus Them issue. People vs the Government. And the People won.

Republicans have tried to do the same thing in other regressive states like Florida. Making citizen initiatives more difficult is a giant middle finger to basic democracy, and it really goes to show you that Republicans never represented the will of the people.

In Missouri, we used our city Facebook groups to explain what each ballot meant so people knew what they were voting for. The government likes to use wording that is difficult for some people to comprehend, so we made sure EVERYONE understood each ballot.

Proud Missourian here that voted No on 4 & 5! But remember in order to have progressive-leaning initiatives we must STOP electing conservative representatives who have outspokenly said they do NOT support what we have voted for.

I’m not red or blue—I’m somewhere in the middle. There are policies from both parties that I support, and others that I don’t. I don’t believe any one party should hold all the power. Different perspectives can lead to better ideas, accountability, and more balanced decisions. I vote for the people and policies I believe in, not for a party label.

It's so strange that Missourians keep voting for democrat policies, but Republican representatives. Shows how tribal politics is in the US. It's party over policy. Missouri has, at least, a work-around, but they might be pleasantly surprised if they just tried voting democrat and having people in power who support the same policies they do.
