This happened in 2024. Sean Grayson was convicted of second degree murder and sentenced to 20 years in prison. He was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. He requested his sentence be changed to 6 months due to medical conditions which the prison board denied. His doctors gave him 18 months to live.
