I don’t see how if there informed beforehand that they may be placebo and pulled out of the trial if there’s a threat to this physical health how that could be unethical. Especially if they have reparations given to the placebo group after. The biggest problem with the long term study u showed was because there coming off could they not be suffering from withdrawal?

You go in and look at the actual statistical difference between placebo and ssri's and it's shocking how little difference there actually is. And then look at the (surprisingly littl) data on how often depression simply resolves itself untreated and compare them, and you're gonna get mad. I did this while in my psych 302 class, brought it up with my prof and she just shrugged.

it really sucks to find out you have a personality disorder- Medications always made *me* feel worse after a certain time. going off it helps for years.

Hate to tell you about the high misdoagnosis rates especially in girls and women who’ve been graped which is the overwhelming of us with “depression”. SSRIs don’t treat sexual trauma or ptsd

It helps by altering the persons emotional state, sometimes by numbing intensity. I’ve seen no evidence the drug actually cures some underlying chemical imbalance brain disorder, it’s been proven serotonin imbalance plays little role in anxiety/depression
