@santana.africa: 🎧 Watch with the sound on. This is Sanga, one of the carving artists at Santana Africa. He never went to school to learn carving. He taught himself and has been doing it since 2007. Today, he can carve almost anything…from detailed wood patterns to human and animal sculptures. The part that stayed with us most was when he said the best feeling is seeing a client love something he’s made. And if there’s one thing he won’t do, it’s shoddy work. His interview is in Swahili, but we wanted to share a little of what he’s saying because it’s worth hearing. Behind every piece we make is someone who genuinely cares about their craft.
