Largely because of Akwamu wars and long dominance. At the time Denkyira controlled southern west of today Ghana, Akwamu did so over the southern east with all Ga, Dangme, Anlo and etc being part of their territory. Also Anlo was an ally. So you would hear Ga, Dangme, Ewe, Anlos, all having war chants in Twi. For the Anlos specifically, they also allied the Asantes, so the cross culture had an extended time. For the Adas, they had Denkyiras who had fled the Asante Denkyira war also join them as well some Asante settlers. All these contributed to the cross culture elements such as the Twi war chants, some Twi words, some traditional adornments and regalia and etc.

Some of these songs are sang by the Ewe Warriors/Asafo as a result of when the Ewes defeated the Ashantis in war around 1869 to 1872 and captured some of their stools

part of the Akans migrated with the voltarians and later migrated to their current location, that's yy people from peki have Akan names like Asabea, Amankwah, ofori, and they they also celebrate Easter like the way the Some Akans do,that festival has several importance like the death of christ and it also shows how the last batch of Akans who were living amongst the voltarians left the peki town to kwawu
