Academic analyses from the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and JAMA Internal Medicine—evaluating cohorts with a median age of 78—found that after vaccines became universally available, the excess death rate gap between registered Republicans and Democrats expanded by 153%, leaving registered Republicans with nearly double the excess mortality rate of their Democratic counterparts.
