When I was a teen I used to think Nelson Mandela failed us, I later understood why Thabo Mbeki was next in line after him. I also understood why the choice he made then was best for that time- we didn't need a civil war, we needed a new South Africa. I hope more South Africans understand this. Our freedom was never going to happen over night and in one season without more bloodshed. Nelson stopped the bleeding and gave way to gradual freedom.

No. They played their part very well but now we’re the ones failing to finish up the struggle. They managed to organize themselves in years of no social media, no telephones or emails but managed to communicate to each others on the continent and stood together.
