Just a random little sentiment from the heart (for today).😅❤️ Over the years, we’ve gotten to do so many cool things thanks to Kernel’s page, one of the most impactful being befriending Danny Sheehan. I knew of Danny bc he was being treated at the hospital I used to work at and I’d followed his inspiring journey for a few years. When his mom posted that things weren’t going well, I asked you all to help me put together a gift bag to make him smile. What came next was 4 enormous hauls of gifts that we were able to surprise Danny with at the end of 4 treatments in 2021. I would also bring Kernel and Huckleberry, and he was more excited about the hedgehog than the presents! At least until he got home and said “this was better than Christmas.” It still makes my heart flutter. And I remember where I was standing one time as he yelled “THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!” out the window at me as his mom drove away. It made me feel so much at once. Danny’s family made keepsake pins for his funeral and mine is proudly displayed on the wall of lucky shamrocks that I collect. On what would’ve been his 10th birthday, we made #danestrong shirts (Dane Strong/Dan-E-Strong… ok, its a bit of a stretch) and donated 78 toys+games with the proceeds to the Jimmy Fund clinic, where Danny was treated. I think of him often and as I “introduced” him via this silly video to someone this morning, I figure let’s bring him into 2026 on here, too. Love always, Alyssa❤️ #aquaman
