A very good question indeed. Is proceeding actually still an option, or are we simply going through the motions for the sake of appearances? The area has already been “zoned,” so why waste everyone’s time pretending this is still an open discussion? Our dear PM @Lawrence Wong , is this really how you want things to be done? Was this brought up in Parliament merely to tick the “we listened” box? Hmm… perhaps the ears are listening very closely, while the decision has already been made and neatly filed away. Nothing says “meaningful public consultation” quite like asking for opinions after the answer has already been decided. At this point, perhaps the consultation is less about listening and more about making sure everyone knows they were “heard.”
