@johncodyrodriguez: Tonight (Wednesday, August 5), I pointed the telescope at the Moon to try and catch the predicted impact of the SpaceX rocket stage near Einstein Crater. The plan: witness an incredible flash on the lunar surface. 🌕 The reality: I stared at the Moon for a long time… and, well… I assume it happened. 😅 Maybe the impact was too faint. Maybe I blinked. Maybe the Moon just wasn’t interested in putting on a show tonight. Still, any excuse to spend an evening looking at our nearest neighbor is a good one. No but I’ve been sky gazing all night. Saw all the typical satellite movement but also a green sky flash and a white one and I’m assuming they were shooting stars. 👀
