I know it's a bold statement, but I really fell in love with this pizza spot in Tokyo. 🙌 At first, I was hesitant about eating pizza in Japan because there were so many other things to try, but after a ton of recommendations, we gave in. And honestly, Japanese people perfect everything they do, so I accepted that pizza had to be part of the plan. And woow 🤩 , this might have been the best pizza in Japan (or in the world?). It was so good we ordered two pizzas... and then added a third. Yes, two people, three pizzas. 🍕 Completely normal🥹 To be fair, we were eating 3 to 5 meals a day while visiting Japan because the food list was endless. We started with the Japanese umami pizza with dried shiitake mushroom cream sauce, mozzarella, pecorino, mackerel, bonito flakes, konbu, green onion, sesame, and soy sauce. Then we had a half marinara, half margherita. Both were incredible. But we couldn’t leave without trying the Bismarck 2.0 beacuse it looked sooooo good: a margherita topped with prosciutto and two eggs. I still can’t pick a favorite because I crave all three right now, but maybe the last one wins. Which says a lot since I was already very full. Yuki Motokura opened Marumo Pizza after working at Savoy and is known for blending Neapolitan pizza technique with Japanese ingredients. He is currently ranked number 14 on @thebestpizzawards and placed 3rd on @Time Out Travel 19 best pizzas in the world, and if you are planning a food trip to Tokyo, this is your sign. Try this pizza and thank me later. ❤️ #tokyo #pizzalover #japantravel #shibuya #tokyofood
