My daughter’s dad has never paid for a single bit of uniform and not paid any child maintenance since she started school and now she’s 18 years old.

i paid for everything for my oldest 2 up until i met my current partner (father to my younger 2). now my oldest is a adult has his own flat ect but 2nd born is in collage my partner helps get what he needs like he does our own 2 children. never had a penny off my ex. i guess im lucky a real man stepped up for my oldest 2 boys. but i agree dads should split uniform costs idealy as its a must not a want

There is the other side when mums don’t contribute anything at all and leave it to dad and partner who the child lives with. Trying to pursue this is impossible, if it had been the other way around and dad didn’t contribute anything at all it would be upheld and swiftly pursued through CSA. Absent mums in my experience have zero accountability when they decide to “opt out” of contributing and it takes teamwork for us to make sure everything is covered day in and day out. Back to school costs on top are eye watering.

in my opinion, I would just like a little bit of child maintenance LOL that would be a good first point ha ha but I don’t think that will be happening any time soon lol

I was a single parent to my 1st born. I payed for everything, got no maintenance money from the dad. my son is now 18 and wants for nothing and has nothing to do with his dad.

Any decent man/dad regardless of what the mum gets in maintenance which is normally not enough to survive on, would just help pay for it or buy it. Makes me laugh when some men think £50 a week is enough to live off and pay for everything needed. Not saying all men are the same either. X

single mamma here 🙌 no maintenance nothing i buy literally everything and im happy with that I sleep easy at night knowing my boys dont want for anything have everything they need and I do it all and im fine with that ❤️❤️❤️

Maintenance is for contributions towards a roof over heads and utilities and food. Clothes are not included xxx

My mum really struggled on benefits when we were young. my dad paid maintenance every month for all 3 of us he always bought us school shoes and any logo uniform needed meaning my mum only had to buy the basics like shirts, trousers etc they always went halves on school trips and he's always took us away on holiday every year because he knew my mum couldn't I thank him everyday for being the best dad ever and stepping up to support my mum regardless of what happened between them

Good morning Steph I’ve been a single mom from day dot and never received a penny from the donor, my son also has asd and I raised him single handed he’s 24yrs old and never leaves the house, but yeah I did it all by myself ❤️

My daughter’s dad pays maintenance and also pays half for school uniform etc and at Xmas time if there’s something I’ve seen for her that’s a bit spenny he always offers to pay half. But we also buy separately for certain things too for her xx
