Helloo kuya, just wanna ask some advice. My tito says that MacBook is way more suitable as an upcoming IT student, to be specific specs ay 16/516gb. But I'm hesitating since hindi rin ako gamay sa Mac (i've used my friend's Mac once and it's totally different to windows as a pc user). Also, hindi rin kaya ng parents ko kumuha ng brand new so we'll look for a 2nd hand na lang. Sa windows naman, I'm also okay with it. Know some pros and cons here as in sa general windows user. Idk which one to buy since I'm also an online gamer, likes to edit and stuff. Thank you in advance kuya, for answering:))

Respectfully disagree with the blanket "never buy" label here. While you make valid points about service centers and hardware limits, every tech category has its place depending on budget and user needs: Lesser-known brands (Chuwi, Machenike, etc.): Sure, aftermarket support is trickier, but they offer spec-to-price ratios that major brands simply can't match on a tight budget. Chromebooks: ChromeOS isn't meant to be Windows. For ₱2,000–₱3,000, a second-hand Chromebook is an absolute lifesaver for students who just need basic document editing, Google Classroom, and web browsing. Entry-level laptops (Aspire, Vivobook, IdeaPad): Bottom-tier specs can be slow, but buying from major brands gives users official local warranties, full Windows compatibility, and accessible repair centers anywhere in the PH. Not everyone has ₱30k–₱40k+ to drop on mid-range units. The key isn't avoiding these completely, it's matching the laptop to the right budget and expectations!
