i relate a lil too much to this, cuz one time so a lil back story my parents r separated nd i live wit my mom, i went for thanksgiving break wit my to el salvador to visit/meet my grandma on his side and on that trip i planned to tell him ab my bf bc my mom had alr met him nd his parents etc etc so i felt it was right to tell my dad okay cool so i ended up telling him nd basically he crashed out on me nd said i couldnt be dating nby bc im too young nd that i need to focus more on school mind u i had all A's nd B's so school wasnt a problem at all nd then after i left bc break was over he didnt talk to me untik this past summer (basically got ghosted by my own dad), and i was supposed to have my dad at the sweet 16 i was planned for over a year nd he couldnt even bother to show up nd made some bs excuse that he couldnt leave work mind u HE DOESNT WORK ON WEEKENDS he couldve flown early in the morning nd made it work so all i got was a basic ass happy birthday txt with no gift at all. yet all my tios, tias, cousins!!! sent me either money or a physical gift. but my dad only sent a txt nd even then this summer my dad didnt bother saying sorry nope he worked fed me one fast food ass meal nd never rlly talked to me so i was hanging out with my tio the entire time nd then js going out whenever i felt like it tbh nd i remember during that argument i was so ready to tell him "its not like ur in my life enough to decide what i do anyways" but i didnt bc i was js always taught to respect ur elders even if u dont agree but ik thats not how ima raise my kids idgaf respect goes both ways to me but its also my dad so i HAVE to sorta respect him if ykwim nd sorry i js yapped lwk- 😭

Omg this is so real. My dad found out that I was doing terrible in Spanish and called me late asf, gave me a crappy lecture and then claimed that he was going to be more on me when it comes to school. That was months ago and he hasn’t called since 💀
