Part of that understanding is knowing exactly how to translate to and from Zulu and the differences between standard time and daylight time. Remember, standard time is happening now (from November to March); to get from Zulu to local time you will subtract 5 hours for eastern time zone, 6 hours for central, 7 hours for mountain and 8 hours for pacific.
