I had silver nitrate on my vagene when my stitch (from labour) came out and wouldn't heal. Not for the weak 🥲..

My mum has a stoma and uses silver nitrate when the stoma has spilts. It will help. I cannot believe a surgical team and tissue viability team aren’t looking at you.

Hey. This is difficult because you’re young & energetic! But you need to slow down, rest & get better. You will get better I’m sure it’s just that a week seems like 2 months at your age! I do wonder why you’re not being seen daily for wound dressings though? (You said you’re doing your own sometimes) All the evidence suggests that you should be seen daily, it’s in medical journals etc. challenge your GP with that if you feel you’re not getting enough support. Unfortunately with the NHS, only those who shout loudest get the right support these days. Sending good wishes x

ask the gp or practice nurse for a review by tissue viability nurse team (wound care specialist nurse). practice nurse will often liaise with them.

I make my husband have a sleep every afternoon. I make him go up to bed for 2 hours in the afternoon. and it does help.you have to do this and do not feel guilty about it .xx

Hello mate, i’ve had 2 perianal abscesses and both didn’t fully heal due to an anal fistula forming. I’m actually currently waiting for an MRI scan to confirm the 2nd one. Might be worth speaking to your doctor about it as my GP couldn’t diagnose it for over a year and it was only finally diagnosed when I was referred to the colorectal team at the hospital.

The nitrate sticks worked for me I had a C-section and unfortunately after a week my scar burst open over half of it after daily packing and dressing changes it did get smaller from what it was but mine started over granulating a lot after about 5 months of it being open they finally got me a appointment with specialists at the hospital who used the sticks to basically burn it lol and it was all closed within 2 weeks after that 🥰

I went through dressing changes for a year about 10 years ago, and i’ve had numerous dressing changes for months continuously in the years to follow (medical issues), and currently have one under my armpit now. I’ve been through enough over granulation issues myself. The only thing that worked for me that a nurse started to use was just standard Hydrocortisone cream 1%z. We tried all sorts and she just said let’s go simple, and it worked! Could you ask about standard Hydrocortisone?

You need to talk to district nurses in your area, they are the experts on wound care!! We’re not allowed to use inadine anymore but, inadine would sort out the overgranulation 🥲🥲

Try fludroxycortide tape that works well with overgranulation. Ask your GP/district nurse for it.
