I’m a local. I’ve never seem those products selling in any place visited. I guess they only sell to tourists in touristy spots. Those product are illegal according to Thai law.

Those products are usually sold in touristy areas thoughhh or more regularly in touristy locations like phuket/pattaya (like those provocative looking soaps lmaoo). But you dont really see them often in general or in regular areas 😭

i haven’t been to thailand but the same goes with some tourists spots in the philippines, esp baguio. when i first visited the place i actually had the same reaction as you because its literally everywhere 😩 ig, it just depends on what place u visit because in other tourist spots in the philippines it’s not in souvenir shops, maybe the same goes with thailand

they are only selling these at tourist spots but there is so much more to thailand than these unfortunate representations, it also rly depends on where you’re traveling to actually! some tourists spots you wouldn’t even see these but it tends to be less popular than those who have it because of tourism tedency😓😓

it’s the most exhausting thing, having to explain to someone new that 90% of thailand isn’t what the media presents. those negative things people assume about thailand are almost always only in touristy areas. and people who come to thailand following what’s ‘popular’ will only see this part that is made to sell to a very small group of people, and assume it’s the identity of our country.
