okay before I continue watching, because I used to work with organic matter, the smell you got when you opened it was most likely H2S (hydrogen-sulphide) is a gas thats heavier than air and is produced from decomposing organic matter, this gas is one of the most deadly things to inhale thats not man made, at 50 ppm if enough is inhaled you will get headache, nauseous, dizziness, and usually smells like rotten eggs, but the deadly part is if its high ppm, it can lead to completely losing the ability to smell anything and in some cases taste, but the worst effect is sudden unconscious, or instant death if high enough, its a gas that needs special training to work around and requires a gas monitor, and alarms triggers at just 5-8ppm its a serious thing when around decomposing organic material especially in a closed area with no airflow, as it can sit for long time undisturbed, and the worst part it loses its distinct smell after 200-500ppm the stories ive heard during my training were horrible
