@jacquiwilkinson02: A great mother’s greatest gift is not love endlessly but giving the ability for her child to stand alone. Independent and free. That’s true love 💕 #turningthetablesontrauma
This is nonsense. It can also be a trauma response. My mother was shit and I am incredibly resilient and independent becuse I had to be. Nothing to do with her caring about how I turned out. Just survival.

I hate other mothers who make their children completely dependent on them. we have to raise our children to live in this world without us or we set them up for failure

A mum that does not offer any support will most definitely make her children stand alone from an early age.

I disagree with this. The greatest gift a mother can give is LOVE. A child who knows they are loved perfectly is more likely to become confident enough to be independent.

Your role in life as a parent is to build in your children the ability to be independent. You will not always be there to rescue them.

I learnt my mother was unnecessary because she was never there when I needed her . I wouldn't call her a great mother.

I dont know about that. My kids are doing pretty great as young adults. My siblings and I had a mom who thought we all should deal with everything on our own, and well. We all have been going to therapy for years. Also we are permanently damaged in ways you cannot imagine. Be careful what advice you give to others.

it's not to be a great mother it's to be a mother simply, it's our role. but if you can do it with a lot of love believe me it's the greatest gift , because I know some people became independant too early with a cold hearted mother and the result is not glorious.
