@elite.recruiter: Somewhere along the way, women were taught that caring how you show up makes you shallow. That the serious ones rise above it. That's the most expensive lie you'll believe in corporate. ⠀ The men who "rise above it" are usually working inside a dress code so simple they never had to think about it. You don't get that luxury. The read on you is more detailed, so opting out doesn't make you above the game. It makes you the only one not playing it. ⠀ So play it on your terms: ⠀ 1️⃣ Audit your own read. Walk past a mirror and clock the first word that comes to mind. If it isn't the word you'd want a hiring manager to think, that's your work. ⠀ 2️⃣ Borrow up. Look at the woman one level above where you're headed. Not to copy her, to decode what her signal is doing that yours isn't. ⠀ 3️⃣ Decide before the room, not in it. The confident read comes from not improvising. Know your signal walking in so your energy goes to the conversation, not your collar. ⠀ None of this is about being looked at. It's about controlling what gets assumed about you before you've earned the chance to prove otherwise. ⠀ Comment ELITE and I'll send you The Elite Edge, my no fluff newsletter on the corporate truths no one else will tell you. ⠀ #womenatwork #careeradvice #corporatelife #executiverecruiter #careergrowth
