Oprah’s picks felt more literary, like novels that your teacher would ask you to write a 500-word essay. Reese’s picks are more commercial, something that she can produce into a film or an HBO series.

from what ive seen she’s always been pretty upfront that the club is largely about finding stories to be developed for TV and film. the point of it is to get more female-led stories into mainstream production not to find the best 5⭐ read xx

I mostly hate that the “stickers” for her book club aren’t removable. They are printed on the books. 🙄 Just like the Netflix ones. 🤬
