@mr.typhoon_wx: Tropical Storm "MAYMAY" ("KUJIRA") ALL MENTIONED TIMES ARE IN UTC+8 (PhST) JTWC (5PM, August 5): Kujira (Philippine name Maymay, Japanese Typhoon Number 14) is located 415 km north-northwest of Manila, Philippines, and has tracked north-northeastward at 7 km/h (4 knots) over the past 6 hours. Maximum significant wave height is 3.7 metersKujira has meandered slowly northward in a weak steering environment over the last 24 hours, and remains quasi-stationary. Over the next 12 to 18 hours, strengthening southwest monsoon surge flow will steer Kujira eastward, with landfall along northern Luzon expected in around 12 hours over the next 15 hours. The system will quickly cross Luzon while steadily weakening. The remnant vortex is expected to emerge off the east coast of Luzon in 24 hours before being accelerated eastward into the Philippine Sea along the northern edge of the surging monsoon southwesterlies. The system has attained its peak intensity and is expected to maintain 65 km/h (35 knots) until landfall in around 12 hours.
