taylor swift had a similar issue with the anti hero music video when she stood on a weighing scale and she ended up removing that section of the video. Ariana is definitely seeing this discourse and is choosing to partake in it through this. I dread to wonder if she thinks it’s funny or finds the concerns of the public as something rude.

Is it not meant to invoke a reaction of “no change/alteration is good enough”? Even when emaciated, the note is to lose weight. I feel like the criticism of this part misses the point the music video was making. That likely, constant notes like that are what led her to the state she’s in.

When you say it’s unforgivable. Do you think maybe she’s kind of making a point like she was told to lose weight now she’s told she’s too skinny. She’s kind of just telling the story of her experience? I can totally understand your point but I think unforgivable is a bit of a strong term.
