@abc11news: Loads of sand were pumped onto a beach in Buxton on Friday, July 31, as a nourishment project kicked off to restore the North Carolina coastline. Jenni Koontz of Epic Shutter Photography captured this footage showing machinery pumping sand onto the beach to restore the Outer Banks shoreline. About two million cubic yards of sand will be placed along Buxton’s oceanfront beaches as part of an estimated 95-day construction project, according to Dare County officials. At least 20 beachfront homes collapsed in Buxton since September 2025 due to coastal erosion.
