I live in Joburg. My mom is 78 and on oxygen so disabled but until fairly recently could drive. My dad used to have to do the driving and grocery shopping etc. my dad fell and broke his hip almost three months ago. So they haven’t seen ‘Madala’ for ages and unfortunately unlikely to. . Every time I go and fill up my car I am literally swarmed by them all to find out how my parents are. They all work different shifts so they all do this. I actually took my mom to go and visit her friends and they all were so touched some were crying they were so happy to see her. I’ve honestly received more care, compassion and kindness from those petrol jockeys than I have from family. Baloney when my parents were able to drive they were so well cared for when they went to this particular Petrol station. Sometimes we find kindness in the most unexpected places.
