CRISPY POPCORN TOFU 💥 ⠀ Cooking up a FEAST with these insanely crispy tofu popcorn bites! Only 2 more days until the big reveal of my new project… stay tuned 🤫 ⠀ For the buttermilk: - 250 ml plant milk (I used soy) - 2 tbsp vinegar of choice - 4 tbsp soy sauce - 2 tbsp hot sauce (optional) For the cornstarch: - 5 tbsp cornstarch - 1 tsp smoked paprika - 1 tsp garlic powder - 1/2 tsp oregano - Salt - Black pepper ⠀ - Panko breadcrumbs - Oil to fry ⠀ ❶ Make the buttermilk, then tear your tofu into chunks and let it marinade in the buttermilk for at least 10 minutes. ❷ Coat the tofu with the cornstarch mix, dip it in the buttermilk and coat in panko breadcrumbs. ❸ Heat the oil to 170°C, then carefully drop in the tofu bites and fry until golden brown. ❹ Place on a cooling rack or piece of kitchen paper, then sprinkle with salt. ❺ Serve with your favorite dip or however you prefer.
