I've watched the fight like 10 times and I know why topuria lost. It might sound crazy but it IS because of the crowd. Each time ilia got his momentum the crowd was pretty much silent, Ilia didn't feel that hype of being close to knocking someone out like he usually does from the crowd so he just, sort of, stopped, didn't know how to continue. I believe had there been a normal crowd and not the absolute ahh crowd there was at ufc freedom 250, Ilia would've easily got a ko in the first round.
