I love the idea of unions, but I think anti-union propaganda has decimated people’s faith in them. Many people are very critical of the unions. I’m not sure how to address or change that.

If you remove thw profit motivation and use a crown corporation then it can be a done slightly cheaper using the same subs for construction and the loans would be cheaper as well.

thats why we have painter unions carpenter unions steelworker Union Trade union the list goes on. they pay directly to their workers. the auto union dont do that unfortunately. but I'm not complaining. im thankful I work in the auto union.

Please unpack your union comment! I don’t fully understand your proposal either… company pays one entity bi-weekly (let’s say) and that is to the union who then pays all its members who are working for that company/employer? The subsidizing part is where I’m getting lost; I assume dues are still baked in there too. I just wanna learn more!

I’ve held a long standing belief that a good politician is a bad leader and good leader is a bad politician. So for perspective, I don’t think Carney is a good politician, but I think he’s a good leader. (I’ve always felt that because we elect politicians instead of leaders, we always end up with a mess). Poilievre is a successful politician but he’s a terrible leader.

I think it’s about time for a terrible politician. We need good people in government. Good people are often terrible politicians. But it’s just not the politicians. We need good people as bureaucrats. Unfortunately I think some of these bureaucrats are corrupt. And corrupt bureaucrats often corrupt good people who are politicians.
