Makes sense for them to continue support of physical disc since Xbox has always been about backwards compatibility and how else would they do disc to digital. But I’m not switching though since I sealed my fate going all digital for 3 generations now. I like closing one game and switching to another without looking for the disc. Plus I’ve had my physical games stolen before.

Alright then was was the next console only supposed to be digital until this backlash happened. Plus backwards compatibility has nothing to do with the disc. I dont own an xbox currently, but my OG xbox disc didnt work on my 360 that I was ever aware of. Xbox started something, Sony dumb enough to go along with it, and now xbox is doing what they always do and backtrack pretending they never were the first to take that jump. I dont understand how anyone can trust that company. At least Sony is sticking to their guns and not backing down. I can at least put more faith in that and if they come up with a way to permanently keep your digital games. I would trust them over xbox at this point.

I believe they said that they’re still gonna produce discs but the way it’s going to work is that it will be a digital download so you can’t pass or share the disk with others similar to how Nintendo does the same thing with their cartridges
