So I had an ex who treated me terribly. He eventually got married and, from everything I heard through our mutual friends, treated his wife pretty much the same way. More than a decade later, I found out he cheated on her with another woman and eventually married that woman. And interestingly, he actually treats this woman noticeably better than he treated me or his previous wife. It’s such a stark difference that it’s become a recurring topic of conversation among our mutual friends. So while I agree that people generally don’t magically become different partners just because they’re with someone new, I don’t think it’s an absolute rule. Sometimes the person really does show up differently in a different relationship… his new wife comes from a super loaded family btw 😂 she’s basically the Paris Hilton of Turkey. So that definitely has something to do with it. Men can be gold diggers too.

No, he WILL treat her better for the first year, just out of spite because he’s been told he’s got issues and will treat the next person bad as well, so he will challenge himself and do better but the mask will come off eventually! That’s the difference.

My ex is a narcissist like classic overt one. Abused me and my children so badly then abused me through the systems too. He got with a new girl within a week of us splitting up. He said she was better than me and a better mother. I was so hurt and she constantly told me that I eas lying about the abuse and that he would never treat her that way she even testified in court to that. Now I just found out child protection and police are involved in their relationship.... So they both had me thinking that she had it better than I did, 5 years later there's proof she doesn't. Its sad for her though, I warned her constantly 😢

I know it feels a lot better to believe this, but honestly girls: No. And that’s okay. Men act different around different women. It has nothing to do with you. But if a man wants to treat a women right, he will. If he doesn’t, he just won’t. That’s it.

They always treat them better in the beginning, but they can’t keep that facade for too long. They may never come back bc you know them too well and they’ll always seek someone new… a clean slate. But yes, if they last, it’s bc the woman settled.
