Cotton is one of the most pesticide-intensive crops on earth, roughly 4.7% of global pesticide sales on just 2.4% of farmland. A 2015 University of La Plata study found glyphosate in 85% of cotton personal care products tested. And a 2020 analysis by Gao & Kannan found phthalates in nearly every feminine hygiene product they screened. So we sent tampons to an ISO 17025-accredited lab: - Tampax Pearl - Playtex Sport - Kotex Click - Cora Comfort Fit - Rael Regular - Honey Pot Regular - Organyc Regular Glyphosate: none detected, down to 4 ppb via LC-MS/MS, in all 10. AMPA, glyphosate’s breakdown product: none detected. Phthalates: clean across the board, including the brands with plastic applicators. A separate GC/MS screen of 20 residual solvents: ethylene oxide, benzene, trichloroethylene among them also came back none detected. Full reports for every brand are on the Oasis app
