this song is really a good representation of where you can interact with someone but they'll never love you back it's using a metaphor of without a hook, you approach them and even get close but without a hook they will never meet, a line without a hook, just like a Fisher man and fish at sea without a hook they could never be, I made that up during a poem making contest since it's a good song to write about, the way he explains on how he could never truly get or hook and reeling the girl he liked I'd quite saddening and a good concept for a dong
