They’re no longer laying people off because they’re broke. They’re still making record profits and just don’t think they need as many employees to maintain that trajectory. I just wish they felt a moral sense of shame about ruining peoples lives

It’s quiet layoffs. They have started laying off small amounts a few times a year so it’s below the threshold required by law to report it. It’s shady behavior for sure.

the problem is that a lot of these layoffs aren't because they're broke. it's because they're greedy. they're removing people to rehire at a lower pay rate, they're making the left over people do more tasks, they're replacing people with AI... it's ridiculous.
