Our family friends recently eloped/micro wedding in Jackson hole with maybe 20 people. Got a huge Airbnb and just used the scenery as the “venue”. All the needed vendor wise was a friend to officiate and photographer. And then about two/three weeks later they had a big celebration for everyone to come at their house and it was so fun. Just catered food and people just hung out like a cookout and tbh I loved my wedding but this vibe seemed immaculate. I could see you doing the same vibe but on the coast

We had a destination micro wedding! I didn’t want the big wedding either. We lived in Virginia at the time (moved to Raleigh last year!), drove down to Orlando, did Disney the week leading up, rented out a house in reunion resort, our fam mostly stayed at other houses in the resort, and then we had a reception dinner at four seasons Orlando (private dining). We only had 20 people, childhood best friends that are like family and our families. We were able to have our dogs there which was the most important to me 🥹🫶🏽 the day after our wedding we did a capture the moment session at magic kingdom 🤍

If I could go back in time, I would have done the more intimate family coastal/beach wedding! Loved my wedding but I wish it was much smaller and more chill! 🩵🩵

We paid for our wedding ourselves too I totally feel you! An Airbnb wedding stressed me out because of the lack of vendor setup (you’ll need to do everything yourself) so we decided to pick a wedding venue, small guest list of 80 people, and have the wedding on a Thursday in March which saved us a TON of money compared to a weekend in April or May

I eloped at the courthouse in Santa Barbara! It’s a popular courthouse wedding location and cost close to nothing. We stayed in LA at an airbnb, and rented a car and did all the things. Then we came back and did a party at a venue that was so affordable, we catered, and it was my fave thing ever! I started off wanting a big wedding and planning was the worst and became more about other people than my husband and I. The only thing I wish I would have done is made the decision to elope sooner in the planning process.

we did a micro wedding- literally just our parents, siblings + their partners. got married on the coast. it was magical and exactly what I wanted. still had a reception later on but kept it simple & affordable just to have a party! highly recommend, traditional wedding was not for me!

18 years later we always tell people if you have the desire to elope, do it. I disliked every single bit of wedding planning. So do the elopement and then a celebration after if that’s what’s calling to you!

My sister did a micro wedding with immediate family only and it was so fun and intimate! She rented an Airbnb on the lake where all 10 of us stayed for a long weekend and it was so nice getting to know his family and just all being together. They had an officiant and got married on the dock of the rental and had dinner catered locally which made it feel so easy and stress free!

We did a courthouse wedding downtown Raleigh. Then did a “open house” cocktail style “reception” the next day at Lynwood Brewing. Spent less than $5000 on the “weekend”!!

Do an elopement !!!! If you don’t care about the big wedding, DONT give in to the societal pressure. However, pick a few small things that you care about (photo, dress, video) and budget for that😙🦢🤍

Ah I would love for you guys to do a coastal weekend at the beach and go small! That would be amazing! We paid for our wedding almost 3 years ago and it was small and so perfect! your priorities matter and what youre gonna be happy with in the end is what matters!

We eloped at the courthouse! It was literally so easy and I wouldn’t trade this for anything! We hired a photographer and did photos at the courthouse afterward & in the park and had a few friends & family over for dinner!! Spent under $200 for each of our wedding day outfits & in no debt from it :) Highly recommend this route!!

We’re doing a very small Airbnb wedding in Guatemala!! March 2027!! I found a planner to help with logistics because we’re in the states and told her my budget for everything including her lol! View from our Airbnb balcony is DREAMY☺️

I’m in the exact same boat!! I thought about the same options and when I looked into Airbnb style for about 75 people it was still SO PRICY! Things just add up so fast but I’m sure it can be done affordably! Im looking at venues abroad and for 3 days of events + all premium packages for 75 people I was quoted 20k total which is 10x more affordable than anything I looked at locally! Wedding culture and prices in the US are just outrageous 😭😭 eloping genuinely sounds so stress free and make it exactly what you and your fiance want 💓

Beach wedding 100%!! My husband and I did this last year with ~30 family and close friends and wouldn’t have changed a thing. Also had a party at home a few weeks after but nothing formal and it was truly the best of both worlds
