Girl….. bring those paci’s to the hospital! I didn’t with my first and wished it had one there. My child was a paci lover and had one the min we got home from the hospital. It did not interfere with breastfeeding. I breastfed for 14 months, pumped occasionally when I needed to. The paci never affected that. I will die on the paci hil LOL we couldn’t have lived without it.

Pacis are great in the early stages, however, once they start getting teeth it’s time to take em! Otherwise it’ll start to reshape the roof of their mouth and cause dental problems. Not only that, but they can also use the paci as a teether unknowingly and bite off the rubber tips in their mouths and choke. 🫶🏼

I didn’t force the paci on little man! It does reduce the risk of SIDS but he mainly uses it when he’s trying to fall asleep and or for soothing. Now that he is grabbing things and has good function of his hands he just likes to hold it!

My first baby could care less on paci, second baby she used it until teeth pop through and stopped using since then but 1 year was going to be my limit if they were using them until then.

DO NOT force a paci if he takes one cool if not don’t force it. My grandma tried forcing my daughter to take one and it ended up hurting her latch and being exclusively breast fed made that a whole nightmare.

I try not to use a paci except her witching hour other than that we feed to soothe or we rock and sing. If you’re planning on breastfeeding packs can make things complicated

I have a 4 week old baby girl, and she only wants her paci when she goes to sleep, otherwise she’s content without it.

Make sure to wash his clothes with a baby detergent or a sensitive skin kind. Some babies can have skin allergies to some of the ones we all typically would use. I think I used it for like a year or two. Now mind you my babies are now 23 20 and 15 so Im not sure what they even carry for baby detergents anymore lol. It was so exciting to get the nursery together. I miss these days 😪

I used the passy for the first 2 kids and my 3rd I did not and made things so much easier at bed time and we bypassed the breaking them from it as well

Both my babies loved them. I loved the passy cuz it helped soothe them and calm them.

I never used a paci. He was always happy. To each their own. He self soothed and really didn’t cry.

All my kids used a paci until the age of 2 then I started to ween them off of it. One of them just liked to carry the darn thing around everywhere.

I breastfeed my daughter and she took a paci here and there. Trial and error for sure. Every baby is different!

Paci was a need for us. But Wakemed don’t give them out anymore, so bring one if you want it.

swaddles are great during the day but can be dangerous overnight, definitely recommend reading up on SIDS so many things can prevent it even stuff i’m still learning 15 months later, but that sleep sack will be your best friend, my daughter only used a paci for sleeping hours now she knows how to ask or will just go hunting for her own paci when she wants it, they grow up so quickly 🥺 congratulations excited for you!!

My son used the one from the hospital for a short time, but he was never super attached and when he started spitting it out, I stopped offering it.
