correction: if you are affiliated with a minor party, you dont get to participate in major party primaries (as if we wanted to). Green, Libertaria , etc.

I wanted ranked choice voting but apparently that’s too complicated for Colorado (since it didn’t pass last year) 😭 🤡

I’d rather is have another run at voting on Ranked Choice Voting, instead of playing around with this.

as a Californian, this sort of system is absolutely terrible. We have so many entrenched incumbents who will never lose a primary because of it

Republicans know they’ll never win any Colorado election again so the strat is non partisan primaries and hope they can steal some elections by running 2 republicans in a race with 10 dems running and hope they make the final 2 from the d vote being so split. Probably still wouldn’t work but a better chance for them than the current system

If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. I’m independent and I choose which party primary I’m voting in… works great.

as someone who just left Louisiana which just got rid of its open primaries. there's a lot. I like the idea around open primaries but the major problem is in a first pass the post system it incentivizes the wrong things

Oh wow, the organization "improving" the primary process results in Republicans winning more then they otherwise would? And their leader is some rich dude? Oh wow, I'm so surprised.

make it an approval voting primary. less complicated than ranked choice. vote for -everyone- that you like. top two with the most “approve” votes advance to the general.
